On Aug 17,2004, China non-Metallic Minerals Ind Asociation invited Mr. David m. Bernstein, as a consultant in Toxicology from Switzerland, gave a speech at Beijing on the Biopersistence of Canadian / Branzilian / Russian Chrysotile after inhalation.
And on 25/26 Aug, CNMIA hold seminar on the safe use of chrysotile, with many honourable speakers such as:
-- Mr. Clement Godbout, chairman of AIA, Canada, "Status of the Rotterdam Convention and the Role of AIA",
-- Denis Hamel, Chrysotile Institute, Canada "The Biopersistence studies for chrysotile",
-- E.V.Kovalevsky, Institute of Occupational Health of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, "Chrysotile in Russia, some results and perspectives of studies",
-- Mdm Wang Mian-zhen, the West-China college of Public Health, Sichuan University, "Our opinion on the Avertable Risk from Chrysotile".
-- Prof Rong Kui-Yi, Wuhan University of Technology,China, "To Recogonize Chrysotile scientifically and Objectively".
Mr. Y.Kozlov, chairman of CIS Chrysotile Association, Russia, and Mr.Kanat Kopbayev, M.Director of United Minerals, Kazakhstan also give a speech to about 150 attenders, including representatives from India, S.Africa, Poland,Philippines,Japan and Thailand.
